Electronics Shop
You are here
The CMRR has a well-equipped electronics shop for the development of MRI electronics. Through this workspace, novel MRI RF electronics are developed to support the needs of various groups of researchers at CMRR.
The electronics shop is equipped with solder stations, a solder reflow oven, power supplies, oscilloscopes, signal/function generators, Two 16-port VNAs, a 2-port VNA, a spectrum analyzer, a noise figure analyzer, RLC meters, and a range of hand and power tools used to fabricate hardware.
Notable Equipment:
ZNL3 2-port VNA: A lightweight 2-port Rohde & Schwarz vector network analyzer used to test RF coils with limited numbers of elements and other simple RF circuits.
Frequency Range: 5 kHz to 3 GHz
ZNBT8 16-port VNA: There are two 16-port Rohde & Schwarz vector network analyzers available in the electronics shop used to test high channel count RF coil arrays.
Frequency Range: 9 kHz to 8.5 GHz
ProtoMat S63 PCB milling machine: This milling machine can reliably mill trace widths down to 10 mil and is used for prototyping RF circuits, antennas, and RF coils.
Milling area: 220 mm x 300 mm
