Incidental Scan Reviews

If you see something concerning during a scan and would like a radiologist to review the images to determine if followup is needed (i.e., through the subject’s normal clinical care system), please use the CMRR's Incidental Scan Review system at the following links:

Options for Radiologist Scan Reviews

If needed, research scans at CMRR can be reviewed by a radiologist. For studies that need occasional reviews for incidental findings, research groups should use CMRR’s Incidental Scan Review system. For research studies that need a radiologist to review every scan within a project, research groups should use the Center for Radiology Research Resources (CR3). Current rates for the three services are available at the CMRR Resource Rates page

Center for Radiology Research Resources (CR3)

Studies that need a Radiologist read for each scan have two options available through CR3:

  1. Research Screening Read where a radiologist will review all participants regardless of the concern level on the images and will produce a brief report; the report will be added to the participant’s medical record
  2. Full Clinical Research Read where a radiologist will review all participants and will produce a report with detail similar to a clinical report (i.e., more detail than the Research Screening Read); the report will be added to the participant’s medical record

For both of these CR3 options, the research group will onboard through the CR3 Intake Form, and then will enter an MR Research Read in EPIC for each scan.
