Network Curvature as a Hallmark of Brain Structural Connectivity
Network curvature quantifies the importance of cortical/ subcortical areas (nodes) in brain networks, that is, how their disruption leads to large changes in the overall graph properties. Curvature can help identify important areas and points to changes in the brain network structure that may be attributed to age or diseases. The close relation between curvature and network robustness highlights the significance of the detected nodes in supporting robust brain functions. A MATLAB implementation to compute nodal curvature for undirected weighted graphs is provided below.
